Description |
This is a high quality handmade oolong from China. Also known as Phoenix bird oolong. Dan Cong is often translated as "Single Strain," named after tea bushes hundreds of years ago in which each bush produced a uniquely flavored tea. Fenghuang Dancong is a select oolong tea from Guangdong province and was a tribute tea in the Song Dynasty. The leaves are harvested from a strain of trees that have been selected for careful breeding as straight trunk trees. These trees have a single trunk that rises straight up and the branches form an umbrella, making harvesting the leaves particularly difficult. Pickers use tall ladders or must climb the trees to harvest the long leaves.
This strain is light and slightly astringent, with a hint of tropical fruit. This tea absolute delight, from the lovely black leaves, to the complex aroma of the infusion which is a lovely golden yellow liquor, with a complex delicate woody, fruity taste. According to its different flavours, Dan Cong teas have been divided into many types, such as Zhi Orchid, Osmanthus, Yulan, Almond, Cinnamon, Ginger Flower, Jasmine, Honey Orchid, Huangzhi, Grapefruit, etc.. Colony, Egiht Immortals, Oriental Red, Song, City-wall are considered as high grade products.
The aromatic, hearty oolong has a clear orange-brown hue in the cup. The leaves reveal their oolong characteristics during infusion and turn definitively green in the center and red-brown on the edges. The second infusion is considered by many to be the best, with a desirerable, lingering aftertaste.
There is about 20,000-acre-tea-base to produce Phoenix Dancong Tea. Our organic Dan Cong tea is in accordance with the standard of national organic tea, approved by Nuisanceless Food Professional Technical Committee of Guangxi Quality Association. Contains no pesticides. As for processing, preservation, transportation and sales, we carry them out in accordance with production technical regulations of organic tea. The quality of the tea is qualified with the standard and requirements of the regulation “Organic Tea” approved by Quality Inspection Bureau. Medium caffeine content. Brewing Guide: Brew it in a gaiwan or in a Yixing teapot. Preheat vessel and cups with near boiling water (85-95°C or 185-200°F). Fill 1/3 to 1/2 of the volume with tea and add water and push off the bubbles with the lid as you cover and pour out this wash. Add more water, cover and infuse for 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on taste. Pour tea into preheated cups and serve. Infusion can be repeated four or more times, increasing the infusion time as necessary. |

Shipping rates are based solely upon the actual weight of the item and packing (box, foam wrap, etc.). Our shipping charges include packaging, handling, shipping and insurance. According the policy of China Post, we have to arrange shipping as registered SAL/air/EMS parcels. This will take up to 35 days (Usually much quicker), depending on different shipping methods and your distance from China.

Tracking Numbers
The majority of orders shipped by Dragon Tea House are sent via SAL with a delivery confirmation number. This number only details the shipping date and delivery date after it has occurred; it is not a real-time tracking number. Only orders that have been shipped via EMS  means receive a tracking number which will be e-mailed to the customer.
Customs
Customers may be subject to import duties and taxes. We will, however, only charge you for the purchase price, shipping and handling and/or optional insurance (if requested) for your item(s). Any additional charges incurred at customs clearance must be paid for by you.
Shipping Damages & Loss
Orders over 100 are insured which protects against shipping damage and loss by the carrier. Customers are given the option to receive an exact item or refund. Inspect all orders immediately upon arrival. Within 72 hours of receipt, report any damages to us. If it has been over 40 days since your order date and it has not been received, contact Dragon Tea House to investigate the location of your order. While we will work quickly to locate, send another one or refund your purchase, please allow up to 15 days for resolution. For non-insured orders , we can provide you with proof of shipping and the delivery confirmation number to contact your local post office, as well as help with an investigation.

Return Policy

Return/Exchange unwanted products within 3 days of receipt. Shipping will not be refunded for returns on unwanted items and exchanged products may be charged a shipping fee. We do not accept returns on any used products . Items must be returned in original packaging and in resale condition.

Dragon Tea House will send another one (with like product) or refund any defective product within 30 days of customer receipt. Shipping will be reimbursed for the return and change of defective items. No refunds are made for sentimental losses or for any expenses incurred as a result of the loss.
Return Procedure
- All returns must have a Return Authorization to be accepted and processed. If you need to return or exchange products for any reason please contact Dragon Tea House. State the order number, product, and reason for the return. We cannot be responsible for items shipped back to Dragon Tea House without pre-approval.
- You will receive e-mail confirmation when your return is received and processed. To file a claim send us a picture of the damaged item, with the original packaging, via e-mail within 3 days of the receipt of your item.
- Returned items must be received and inspected by Dragon Tea House prior to reimbursement or shipping the same items.
- Credits/refunds will be issued in the manner in which they are paid. Regardless of the reason of return (unwanted item or defective/damaged item) please allow 15 days for return processing and refund.

Dragon Tea House offers a special discount to anyone who would like to purchase our products in bulk quantity. The % discount depends on the amount of items purchased and is applied to the regular retail price. Free shipping may or may not apply to these orders. Please contact us with any large item purchase inquiries to receive an order quote, discount and a current inventory evaluation. When the order has been agreed upon an invoice will be e-mailed or sent. Orders are processed when payment is received.
Product Availability & Backorders
Dragon Tea House offers a variety of brands and products that are usually in stock and our inventory is replenished each week. Rarely an item may be on temporary or extended backorder from the manufacturer. We make every effort to list on the product page any backorder information that is available. Once you have made your purchase, if an item is out of stock we will contact you immediately. You will be notified if the item is anticipated to take longer than two weeks to be received. You have the option to cancel the backordered items (regardless of wait time) and receive a refund.
