ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Details of this Tibetan-Nepalese PHURPA (phurba/dagger) are as follows:

            Weight       : 36gm (1.3 ounce)

            Length       : 10cm (4 inch)

            Made of     : Brass

This Tibetan-Nepalese PHURPA (phurba/dagger) is made of brass. It is 10cm in length, 2.1cm wide and 1cm deep. It weighs 1.3 ounce (36gm). This phurpa has two similar/symetrical faces (eyes, teeth, forehead, neck can be seen in this picture) on either side of it. Phurpa is used by Himalayan shamans, tantrikas, lamas and magicians to bind and pin down negative energies (“three poisons" or "root poisons”) from mindstream. Tantric use of phurpa encompasses curing of diseases, exorcism, killing demons, mediation and consecrations (puja). Blade of phurpa is used for destruction of demonic powers. Top end of phurpa is used by tantrikas for blessings. Phurpa is a spiritual implement rather than a physical weapon.
