HOW TO TEST GENUINE CORAL?

Because corals are remains of marine organisms so it “does not scratch” when it is rubbed against glass. This is how real coral is tested. Otherwise fake and genuine corals look similar. When a fake coral is rubbed against glass it scratches a clear line on glass while a genuine coral neither scratches glass nor it gets scratched by glass. Genuine coral slips whereas fake gets stuck when rubbed against glass. Genuine coral does not discolor. Fake corals are uniform in color; they are generally made from colored glass. Fake coral is very inexpensive. Glass (fake coral) and genuine coral produce a slight different kinds of sound when they fall (strike) against glass. Quality of coral is measured by its sharpness of color.
