Stipula Etruria Leon Battista Alberti LE Fountain Pen

The new collection :Etruria de Architectura limited edition series pays homage to 15th century architect Leon Battista Alberti. Born while his family was in exile. Alberti first came to Florence at the age of 24, after having completed his doctorate in canon law. He is often considered the forerunner of the Renaissance’s “universal man” as he was not only an architect but a talented writer, painter, sculptor, and sportsman. He designed the façade of the Santa Maria Novella Cathedral which today sits just across from Florence’s main railway station of the same name, in 1450 and strived to bring ideals of humanist architecture (proportion and classically inspired detailing) to it while also creating harmony with the existing medieval section. The Alberti fountain pen’s comes with sterling silver and enamel clip and band, recalling green and white façade of this famous Florentine cathedral. An honor to the man whose insight and innovation foreshadowed the shining Renaissance period in Italy that was to follow. The Leon Battista Alberti fountain pen is limited edition to 193 pieces world wide. It comes with the red-green celluloid pen barrel and cap, features a cartridge/converter filling system, fitted with the 14 carat nib. The limited edition is individually numbered on the pen barrel.
