History of SPITFIRE XIV AIRPLANE

"Spitfire" was a kind of fighter which was investigated, produced and flied successfully on 3 June 1936. It used 900HP R-R merlin "C" style engine. It was being used to equip the British air force. The Great Britain strated war with Germany on 3 September 1939. On October, "Spitfire" take the initial score by shooting down German HE-111 bomber. During the Battle of Britain "Spitfire" shot down many German fighters. This had destroyed the German's plan of intruding into the Great Britain, the "Sea Lion Plan". Later, "Spitfire gradually replaced other fighters and become main type of fighter of British air force. Range :1,368km, Maximum speed :721km/h, Ceiling :13,560m, Wing span :11.23m, Length :9.96m, Height :3.86m
