Very Old Book that is in great shape! Pages are yellowing from age. I did some highlighting in the book because it was used as a teaching tool. Repaired tear on the back cover. Published aa a Bantam Classic November 1959. 143 Pages long. This brilliant masterpiece combines the intensity and suspense of a detective story with a scathing satire on the failings of human nature. Written in 1894, ten years after Huckleberry Finn, Twain's greatest novel, and six years before THE MAN THAT CORRUPTED HADLEYBURG, his profoundly pessimistic study, it contains some of Twain's funniest lines as well as some of his most disturbing insights. Like all his works, it is shot through with the genius of this foremost American writer. With an Introduction by Langston Hughes, Complete and Unabridged. Check out my other items!
