Inferno: Hellbound is actually quite interesting. I thought at first that it was just another war superteam sort of book, like WILDCats or Stormwatch, though a better comparison would be Avengers or Justice League. At closer look, however, it's quite different.

The story is quite simple, yet profound: A passage into Hell has been found by archaeologists, all of whom come to a fiery end when the demons try to make their way to Earth through said passage. The key to closing this passage is back in Hell; unfortunately, the only ones who can go into Hell are people who are destined to spend their afterlives there. That leaves us with the dregs of society: the rapists, the murderers, and other less-than-savory evildoers. Oh, the irony! The only people who can save the world are those the world doesn't want around. The team is formed at a high security prison full of the aforementioned bad guys, all with attitudes and no small amount of dislike for each other.

Of course, the criminal team is overseen by some who aren't exactly criminals, though they have murdered in their own right, perhaps in self defense. It never was explained fully but I suspect that since this is only the second issue out; it will get into more detail in later issues.

All in Mint Condition. Taken care of it very well... a comic collector.
