USES OF CONCH: Wind blow conch (sankha/dun/dhun/seashell) trumpet has been used by Hindus and Buddhists to sanctify their rituals ever since the very beginning of their cultures and religions. It is believed that the trumpeting sound of sankha drives away evil spirits. This sound is also believed to be a call to the God. In the Mahabharat times, trumpeting sankha sound used to be produced to announce the formal beginning of war. One may need to practice to produce the sweet and loud sound from the sankha by blowing the air from the mouth through the blowhole of sankha. Make a smaller opening in between the lips and force the air in a particular direction into the sankha hole to produce this sound. Conch is also used to offer water to the God or the conch itself for bringing peace and prosperity. It is also used as a container for the consecrated water. Conches are usually placed on a red altar cloth above the water pot. Conch is one of the eight auspicious implements (symbol) in Buddhism. Roman mythology mentions use of conch as a trumpet by the Tritons (sea god: son of Poseidon and Amphitrite). SHIPPING: I ship this conch worldwide through UPS.
