What is Henna ?
Henna is a small shrub with small, dark green scented leaves and commonly found in India.
Only pure natural Henna can create red-brown stain. It is used as a body art called Mehandi which is an ancient art in India. It creates beautiful temporary tattoos. They are usually applied to the bride's hands and feet the night before the wedding ceremony.
Here is a simple method to mix and apply Hasina henna powder. You can try and see if it suits you.
- Add a heap tablespoon of henna powder into a bowl. Add a dash of sugar for the gooey feel.
- Add lemon juice. Add little by little to get a good mix. This is the tricky part and you want a good mix to be able to apply it well.
- Sitr it well. The henna mixture looks like a smooth thick paste with lumps remove. Lemon juice helps to make the stain darker.
- Wait for about 5 hours for the mixture to sink in and release the dye.
- You can then start applying to your hands or feet.
- Let it dry for 2-3 hours and then scrape out the dry paste. It is best to leave it overnight for best results (if you can stand it!).
- After you have removed the henna paste design, try not to get it wet as long as possible.
