Description 

Percutaneously active antithrombotic and anti-inflammatory remedy.

The active ingredient of Hirudoid will speedily penetrate the skin and will act uniformly and persistently on diseased tissue. Hirudoid counteracts inflammation, promotes the absorption of oedema and haematomas, inhibits formation and further growth of thrombi, improves local blood flow, stimulates the regeneration of damaged connective tissue and quickly relieves pain and tissue tension, diminishes oedema and haematomas. The feeling of heaviness in the legs soon disappears. Hirudoid does not harm the tissue and is well tolerated. The duration of the disorder will be shortened when hirudoid is applied as directed.

Indications
Hirudoid cream: General care of the veins (prevention of phlebitis), Inflamed varicose veins, Leg ulcers (varicose or gravitational ulcers), Follow-up treatment after sclerosing of varicose veins, Superficial phlebitis and thrombosis, exudates, oedema, haematomas, Various inflammatory processes, e.g. furuncles, carbuncles, lymphadenitis, Softening of hard scars, To improve scars of injuries, burns, surgical operation etc.

Dosage and mode of application
3-5cm of cream should be applied to or gently massaged into the affected area once or twice daily.

In cases of particularly painful inflammation or thrombosis hirudoid cream should be applied thickly to the afflicted area and its surrounds and covered with gauze or lint.

In such cases it may be massaged very gently into the skin surrounding the affected area to intensify the effect.

For the softening of hard scars the cream should be massaged forcefully into the skin.

Hirudoid Cream should only be used on unbroken skin and should not be brought in contact with open wounds, the eyes or mucous membranes.
