History of CONSTELLATION CV-64 U.S.S. Aircraft Carrier 

The "U.S.S. Constellation" is the sister ship of U.S.S Kitty Hawk" and was commissioned 1962 under designation CVA-64. The "Constellation" is assigned to the US-Navy Pacific Fleet and took part in offensive in Vietnam until the mid seventies. Originally planned as nuclear-powered carrier it was fitted with 4 conventional steam turbines and 4 propellers.Redesigned as CV-64, it had major Improvements in its electronic and radar systems and in anti-aircraft defense weapons. Normally the Constellation carnys F-14 Tomcats, F/A- 18 Hornets, A-6 intruders, E-2 Hawkeyes and various aircraft and helicopters for special purposes.
