History of ARADO AR-234 AIRPLANE

The Arado AR-234B holds a place in the history as the world's first jet bomber. One of Worls War II's truly landmark warplanes, the AR-234 combined conventional airframe design with revolutionary propulsion technology. The principal "B" model production version first entered operational service August 2, 1944 during a reconnaissance sortie of Allied positions in Normandy. Among the variants in development at the end of the war was the 4-jet "C" model.
